A Theatrical Production Teaching Children about TouchBubbylonian Encounter is a theatrical production to teach children about sexual abuse. Its main objective is to teach children to tell someone if they have experienced an inappropriate touch and to keep telling until someone listens.“Bub” is a visitor from another planet, where everyone has their own invisible bubble to protect them from being touched. With the help of friends, Bub breaks free of the bubble and discovers all the wonderful things the sense of touch can mean—a cuddly bear, holding a friend’s hand, and a kiss.Bub also learns about inappropriate touch—forced sexual touch. In a gentle but descriptive manner, the children learn the ways in which adults should not touch them. They learn how to enjoy their sense of touch while being alerted to the dangers of improper touching. The production also identifies the confusing feelings that can be a result of any type of touch and helps children recognize and understand those feelings. To schedule a performance at your school or other venue, please contact our office. |
