FLINT, Michigan — Marion Day’s clients can’t talk, but they do communicate.

And it’s up to Day to interpret that communication and prescribe a treatment plan for a baby or a toddler suffering from mental health issues.

Day, 60, of Flint Township gives voice to the most vulnerable in society, speaking for infants and toddlers in courtrooms and in the homes of their parents or foster parents.

Day diagnoses and treats at-risk infants and children up to age 3, a relatively new area of mental health work and one first endorsed in Michigan.See more at http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2010/01/giving_babies_a_voice_is_her_m.html.
